27 August 2026 - 'Extended Look', Netflix first at 3PM EDT, Rockstar channels 9PM EDT
Announced as a first-of-its-kind Netflix partnership. Rockstar has not said whether it contains gameplay; outlets and fans widely expect it to, which is expectation rather than fact. The six-hour Netflix-exclusive window is the interesting part: reaction and analysis content will be second-hand for six hours, then everyone gets the file at once.
Is there an official way to sell GTA server content?
Yes - the Cfx Marketplace, launched January 2026.
A curated first-party storefront where creators sell scripts, maps, props and full server packages to other server owners. This is creator-to-creator (B2B), distinct from Tebex which handles server-to-player transactions and charges a 15% platform fee on FiveM. Its existence is the strongest concrete signal that Rockstar intends to run the creator economy itself rather than tolerate it.
How much free space does my console actually have?
Far less than the box says. Series S: ~364GB. PS5 825GB: ~667GB. Series X: ~802GB.
Advertised capacity is never what you get - system software, decimal-vs-binary counting and SSD over-provisioning all take a cut before you install anything. Reported usable figures: Xbox Series S (512GB) about 364GB, roughly 70% of the label. Original PS5 / Digital (825GB) about 667GB. Xbox Series X (1TB) about 802GB, with roughly 198GB reserved. PS5 Pro (2TB) about 1.84TB. The 1TB PS5 Slim is the messy one - sources report anywhere from about 808GB to about 842GB depending on revision, and we are not going to quietly pick whichever number reads better. Treat all of these as reported figures from outlets, not first-party specifications.
Is Rockstar building a Roblox-style creator platform for GTA 6?
Reported, not announced. Job listings and reporting point that way.
Rockstar acquired Cfx.re - the team behind FiveM and RedM - in 2023. Since then it has posted 'Creator Platform' roles whose descriptions reference customisable dedicated servers and user-generated content, with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S named in candidate requirements. That would put community-hosted servers on consoles for the first time. Rockstar itself has not announced this product. Nothing about revenue share, tooling, timing or eligibility is known.
Strauss Zelnick stated on a February 2026 earnings call that he has every reason to believe support for GTA Online continues after GTA 6. GTA V has sold north of 200 million copies and GTA Online still holds a large weekly active base - there is no financial reason to switch it off. Expect fewer major content drops, not a shutdown. GRADE NOTE: the underlying fact was announced first-party, but this ledger currently cites only outlet reporting, so it is graded REPORTED rather than OFFICIAL. No. PlayStation's own store FAQ calls it "a single-player experience".
The PlayStation Store FAQ answers the multiplayer question directly: "Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience." The same wording appears in Rockstar's pre-order materials. So GTA 6 ships on 19 November with the campaign only, and no new GTA Online at launch. What remains genuinely unknown is everything after that: whether a separate online mode arrives later, when, and how it is structured, progressed or monetised. Rockstar has announced no date. History says something usually follows - GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 both got online modes after launch - but that is pattern, not an announcement. GRADE NOTE: the underlying source is first-party (PlayStation Store), but this ledger cites outlet reporting of it, so it is graded REPORTED until the store URL itself is cited.
No PS4, no Xbox One, no PC, no Switch 2 at launch. Current-gen consoles only. GRADE NOTE: the underlying fact was announced first-party, but this ledger currently cites only outlet reporting, so it is graded REPORTED rather than OFFICIAL. Digital pre-orders can pre-load from 12 November; the game unlocks 19 November. Physical copies ship with a download code available from 12 November for the same reason. GRADE NOTE: the underlying fact was announced first-party, but this ledger currently cites only outlet reporting, so it is graded REPORTED rather than OFFICIAL. The badge reflects what we can show you, not what we believe. It upgrades the moment the first-party post is cited.
Are pre-orders open, and what do the editions cost?
Open since 25 June 2026. Standard $79.99, Ultimate $99.99.
Two editions only - no Collector's or Special edition. Standard includes the Vintage Vice City Pack. Ultimate adds vehicles, weapons and outfits that unlock as the story progresses, plus exclusive vendors and side missions. One month of GTA+ comes with every digital pre-order, either edition - it is not an Ultimate exclusive, and it auto-renews unless cancelled. GRADE NOTE: the underlying fact was announced first-party, but this ledger currently cites only outlet reporting, so it is graded REPORTED rather than OFFICIAL. The badge reflects what we can show you, not what we believe. It upgrades the moment the first-party post is cited.
Rockstar confirmed the date via Newswire and Take-Two has reaffirmed it publicly since, most recently in early August 2026. The game slipped twice before this date (from Fall 2025, then from 26 May 2026), so treat 'confirmed' as 'currently confirmed'. GRADE NOTE: the underlying fact was announced first-party, but this ledger currently cites only outlet reporting, so it is graded REPORTED rather than OFFICIAL. The badge reflects what we can show you, not what we believe. It upgrades the moment the first-party post is cited.
What can a GTA roleplay server legally charge for?
Cosmetics, priority queue and memberships. Not currency, gambling, loot boxes, ads or NFTs.
The Creator Platform License Agreement at fivem.net/terms - last updated 12 January 2026 - binds every server admin. Prohibited: real-money gambling and cash-out mechanics, loot boxes and chance-based purchases (even for in-game currency), selling in-game virtual currency, selling Rockstar-created content, brand sponsorships and in-game advertising, crypto and NFTs, and reselling other creators' content. Permitted in practice: cosmetic and convenience monetisation that is not pay-to-win. GRADE NOTE: the underlying fact was announced first-party, but this ledger currently cites only outlet reporting, so it is graded REPORTED rather than OFFICIAL. The badge reflects what we can show you, not what we believe. It upgrades the moment the first-party post is cited.
Trailer 2: ~475M views in 24h across all platforms; ~84M on YouTube alone.
Rockstar called Trailer 2 the biggest video launch of all time, beating the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer's 365M. Note the number people quote (475M) is all-platforms; the YouTube-only 24h figure was around 84M and actually fell short of Trailer 1's 90.4M YouTube record. Useful calibration for what 27 August looks like.
Is the Extended Look three episodes and about an hour long?
Unconfirmed. One removed Netflix Portugal listing, screenshotted by one person.
A Reddit user posted an image of Netflix Portugal's page appearing to split the Extended Look into three episodes. Reported runtimes cluster at 23:37, 24:41 and 18:29 - about 67 minutes total - though Beebom's rounded 22/24/16 disagrees with the other outlets, and that disagreement is itself evidence about how reliable the screenshot is. The page came down quickly. Two live hypotheses, not one: either roughly an hour across three parts, or the separately reported ~20-minute single presentation. Treat both carefully - the entire evidence base is one screenshot of a since-removed page, posted to a subreddit already full of AI-generated fakes, with no second independent capture. Plausible is not confirmed, and neither Rockstar nor Netflix has addressed it.
Rockstar has not published a file size. Every number you have seen is an extrapolation from comparable open-world titles (100-200GB) plus a day-one patch. Treat as a planning window, not a fact. This will become OFFICIAL when the store listings update - likely near pre-load on 12 November.
Almost certainly not at launch. The modding market was PC-based, and there is no PC version.
Modded-money and cheat-menu economies in GTA Online lived overwhelmingly on PC, because consoles are locked down. GTA 6 launches console-only. No anti-cheat has been announced for it by anyone - BattlEye exists only on GTA Online's PC build, a platform GTA 6 does not launch on. Reasonable inference: the cheap-currency supply that undercut Shark Cards is largely absent in the launch window. Note this cuts both ways - it is also why 'sell modded money' is not a business you can run here, on top of it being a bannable and, for cheat software, litigated activity.
Not announced. No date, no storefront, no system requirements.
Rockstar has never dated a PC version before a mainline GTA console launch. Every mainline GTA has eventually reached PC; GTA V took roughly 19 months. Commentators expect late 2027 to 2028, but that is pattern-matching, not an announcement. Anyone selling you a 'confirmed GTA 6 PC date' today is wrong.
No embargo date has been announced. Historically Rockstar lifts review embargoes very close to launch - GTA V's reviews landed two days before release. Expect somewhere in 16-18 November, but this is pattern, not fact.
no source — inference only

Will GTA 6 even fit on an Xbox Series S?
Nobody knows yet - but it would eat over half the console.
Half of this sum is known and half is not, so here is both. Known: a Series S has about 364GB usable. Unknown: GTA 6's install size, which Rockstar has not published - the widely repeated 150-200GB is extrapolation from comparable open-world titles. If the game lands anywhere in that window it takes 40-55% of a Series S before the day-one patch. Microsoft guidance from September 2020 suggested Series S builds run around 30% smaller than Series X, which may soften it - but that is six-year-old platform guidance, not a GTA 6 statement, and Microsoft noted non-optimised games take the same space on both. Anyone telling you today whether it fits is guessing with confidence. This becomes a real answer when store listings update, expected around pre-load on 12 November.
Will GTA 6 have crypto, NFTs, or in-game money you can cash out to real dollars?
No evidence. The original source of this rumor retracted it.
The story traces to a 2021 claim by journalist Tom Henderson that some GTA 6 missions might reward players in in-game bitcoin - strictly in-game, and flagged by him at the time as 'take with a bit of salt'. Henderson himself later walked it back, saying in February 2026 that the plan was scrapped years ago and that the game would use traditional in-game payment methods. Rockstar's own direction runs the other way: it banned cryptocurrencies, NFTs, loot boxes, virtual-currency sales and brand sponsorships on roleplay servers. Note what this claim is and is not: there is no evidence of a cash-out-to-real-money system, and there never was - even the original rumour only described in-game flavour. Every 'GTA 6 coin' trading today is unaffiliated with Rockstar.
